End User License Agreement (EULA)
FastQ EULA — terms governing your right to use the FastQ software.
Effective date: March 10, 2026
Last updated: March 10, 2026
This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you (“Licensee”) and Timothée GAUCHEZ, auto-entrepreneur, SIRET 10223790600015, 5 avenue de Paris, 78700 Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, France (“Licensor”).
By downloading, installing, or using FastQ, you agree to be bound by this EULA. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.
1. Overview of License Tiers
FastQ is offered in three tiers, each granting different rights:
1.1 Free Tier
The FastQ core engine (queue, workers, retry logic, CLI, Python and Node.js bindings) is distributed under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0, available at:
https://polyformproject.org/licenses/noncommercial/1.0.0/
Under this license you may use, copy, and modify FastQ solely for personal, academic, research, and non-profit purposes. Commercial use of any kind is strictly prohibited without a Pro or Enterprise license.
1.2 Pro License
A Pro license grants you:
- The right to use FastQ, including all Pro features, for commercial purposes.
- A license for one (1) machine, identified by its machine ID at activation.
- Updates and new releases for the duration of your active subscription.
A Pro license does not grant you the right to:
- Install or run FastQ on more than one machine per key.
- Redistribute the FastQ binary, library, or source code to any third party.
- Sublicense, rent, or sell the license.
1.3 Enterprise License
An Enterprise license grants you:
- The right to use FastQ, including all Pro features, for commercial purposes.
- A license for one (1) deployment (server, container, or virtual machine) per key.
- Volume pricing for multiple keys (see Pricing).
- Updates and new releases for the duration of your active subscription.
An Enterprise license does not grant you the right to:
- Use a single key on more than one deployment simultaneously.
- Redistribute the FastQ binary, library, or source code.
- Sublicense, rent, or sell the license.
2. Machine Binding
Pro and Enterprise license keys are cryptographically bound to a single machine at activation. Activation requires the FastQ CLI and an internet connection:
fastq activate "<your-key>"
The CLI reads your machine’s /etc/machine-id (first 16 hex characters) and registers it with our licensing server. A key can only be activated on one machine at a time.
To transfer a key to a new machine, contact support@fastq.oxoghost.dev.
3. Prohibited Uses
You expressly agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer the Pro or Enterprise features, including but not limited to: disassembling, decompiling, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code of proprietary components.
- Circumvent license checks: remove, disable, modify, or bypass any license verification mechanism in the FastQ binary or library.
- Share keys: distribute, publish, or otherwise make your license key available to any third party.
- Use the Free tier commercially: use any part of FastQ in a commercial product or service without a valid Pro or Enterprise license.
- Exceed the licensed scope: use a single key on multiple machines or deployments.
- Create derivative works of Pro/Enterprise features without written consent from the Licensor.
4. Ownership and Intellectual Property
FastQ and all its components remain the exclusive intellectual property of Timothée GAUCHEZ, protected under French law (Code de la Propriété Intellectuelle, L111-1 et seq.).
This EULA grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use FastQ. No ownership rights are transferred.
5. Termination
This license terminates automatically and immediately if you:
- Breach any term of this EULA.
- Cancel your subscription (termination at end of billing period).
- Fail to renew your subscription.
Upon termination, you must cease all use of Pro/Enterprise features and delete any locally stored license keys. FastQ will automatically disable Pro features once the server confirms the license is no longer active.
6. Warranty Disclaimer
FastQ is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
The Licensor does not warrant that FastQ will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected. You assume all risk associated with the use of the software.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by French law, the Licensor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of FastQ, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Governing Law
This EULA is governed by French law. Disputes shall be resolved before the competent courts of Versailles, France.
