Yes, for noncommercial use. The core engine is open source under the PolyForm Noncommercial license — free for personal projects, research, education, and non-profit use. No trial, no credit card, no expiry. Commercial use requires a Pro or Enterprise license.
One license per developer or team. You receive a license key that unlocks scheduling, rate limiting, batching, and DAG workflows. The key is valid for 1 year of updates.
Your Pro license is machine-bound for security — it only works on the machine you registered. Before checkout, run: head -c 16 /etc/machine-id and copy the 16-character output. You'll paste it in the checkout form. This prevents license sharing between machines.
You keep the last version you downloaded. It doesn't stop working. You can renew at any time to get newer versions.
After payment, your machine ID is used to generate a unique machine-bound key, which is emailed to you automatically. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.
Run: fastq license activate "your-key-here". Pro features are immediately available on the machine the key was issued for.
